Chased Britannia Silver Beaker Set
A set of hand-raised silver beakers shaped through process, surface, and place.
Each vessel is formed in sterling silver using traditional silversmithing techniques, before being worked through chasing; a method of controlled hammering that builds texture directly into the surface. The marks are not applied decoration, but the result of repeated, deliberate strikes, echoing the language of carved stone and worked ground.
The surfaces draw from the visual rhythms of Pictish carving and the weathered textures of North East Scotland; stone shaped by time, tools, and labour. There is a physicality to the making: each mark placed by hand, carrying the weight and movement of the process.
Subtle variations occur across the set. No two vessels are identical, but each is connected through a shared language of mark-making and form.
These beakers sit between use and object. They can be handled, used, and lived with, but also stand as quiet, sculptural pieces; vessels that hold both function and memory.
