Sterling Silver Canapé Spike
A refined serving implement shaped through process, material, and use.
This sterling silver canapé spike is hand-formed and finished at the bench, its surface carrying subtle marks from the making process. The form is direct and purposeful; a pointed tool designed for lifting, serving, and sharing food.
Objects such as this sit quietly within moments of gathering: used briefly, passed between hands, and returned again. Though small in scale, they play a central role in acts of hospitality and ritual.
The surface reflects a language of making drawn from worked materials and tool use; echoing the marks of labour, repetition, and handling. Its simplicity allows the material to speak: solid, balanced, and considered.
Designed to be used, not stored away, the spike becomes part of a shared experience; a small object that moves between people, carrying both function and presence.
Each piece is individually made, with subtle variations in surface and form.
