Punched Sterling Silver Beaker
A spun silver beaker shaped through use, material, and repeated gesture.
Formed in sterling silver using traditional silversmithing techniques, the vessel is draughted from a flat sheet before being worked through punching, a process of controlled, repeated strikes that build a textured surface directly into the material. The pattern develops gradually, becoming denser toward the base and softening as it rises.
The form is tall and gently tapered, designed to sit naturally in the hand. Its scale lends itself to daily use, equally suited to water, whisky, or shared moments around a table. The absence of a handle creates a direct relationship between object and user, encouraging touch and familiarity.
The punched surface catches light in a shifting way, revealing subtle variations across the vessel. Toward the rim, the surface becomes quieter, offering a smooth transition between texture and lip.
Beakers are among the most immediate forms in silversmithing, functional, durable, and deeply rooted in drinking culture. This piece continues that lineage, balancing utility with a contemporary surface language shaped by process and repetition.
Individually made, each beaker carries slight variations in surface and form, reflecting the rhythm of its making.
